Oh! How many olive trees on the slope! Almost too many.
They formed a forest. And black
olives were already falling, and the oil would have filled the vats.

Giovanni Pascoli, The Arms (First Poems)

Serra dei Cianci (201 meters above sea level) is the highest hill in the province of Lecce, part of the so-called Serre Salentine, low-altitude reliefs. This hilly ridge, stretching in a Northwest-Southeast direction between Alessano and Specchia, in the Capo di Leuca, is characterized by terraced fields planted with centuries-old olive trees, with twisted and rough trunks, dominated by dry stone walls, “Paiare,” and the evergreen vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub.

Specific pedoclimatic conditions, due to the even modest altitude and the mild Mediterranean climate influenced by the proximity of the sea, combined with the characteristics of the typical red soil resting on the limestone substrate, allow for excellent lush vegetative growth and productivity of the traditional cultivars of our company, the Cellina di Nardò and the Ogliarola Salentina.
